
Dimitra Theodossiou
The huge critical
acclaim she earned with the role of Odabella in Verdi’s Attila at the
Teatro Comunale in Bologna and the Teatro Regio in Parma, was the opener to an
extraordinary career that has lead her to the major stages of the world: the
Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Arena in Verona,
the Opéra in Monte Carlo, the Zurich Opera House, the Bayerische Staatsoper in
Munich, the Teatro Municipal in Santiago, Chile, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the
Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Teatro Municipal de São Paulo in
Brazil, to name a few. She collaborated with conductors such as Muti, Abbado,
Gelmetti, Elder, Viotti, Gergiev, Chailly, Luisi, Campanella, Jurowski, and with
stage directors such as: Hugo De Ana, Pierluigi Pizzi and Igor Mitoraj.
Recently performed Elvira in
Ernani in Bilbao, Bologna and on tour in Japan; Maria Stuarda in
Palermo; La Forza del Destino in Parma; Roberto Devereux in
Montreal; Beatrice di Tenda in Catania; Luisa Miller in Salerno;
Il Trovatore in Lecce; Nabucco at the Arena in Verona, Cagliari,
Pisa; Norma in Gozo and on tour in Sicily; Un Ballo in Maschera in
Rovigo.
Future plans include: Macbeth in Trieste; Stiffelio in
Catania; Otello in Salerno; Un Ballo in Maschera in Bergamo; La
Traviata and a series of concerts in Tokyo; a lyric concert in Bari.
Dimitra Theodossiou
established herself as a major international interpreter of Bel Canto and
verdian repertoire and last summer was awarded by the prestigious Oscar della
Lirica in Torre del Lago.
